Here are some tips for cultivating equanimity in life:

1. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and aware of the present moment. By practicing mindfulness regularly, we can develop the ability to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in them.

2. Develop self-awareness: Self-awareness is the ability to recognize our emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies. When we are aware of ourselves, we are better able to manage our emotions and respond to situations in a balanced and calm manner.

3. Practice gratitude: Practicing gratitude regularly can help us to cultivate a positive outlook on life, even when things are challenging. By focusing on the good in our lives, we can develop a sense of contentment and equanimity.

4. Cultivate compassion: Compassion is the ability to empathize with others and respond to their suffering with kindness and understanding. By cultivating compassion, we can develop a greater sense of connection with others and a deeper understanding of our own experiences.

5. Take care of your physical health: Taking care of our physical health is essential for cultivating equanimity. Regular exercise, a healthy diet, and sufficient sleep can help us to manage stress and maintain a sense of balance and well-being.

For the last 14 years, athletes have sought out to work with J.R. because of his coaching philosophies. His ability to improve strength, power, speed, mobility, agility and sport-specific endurance is unmatched. Coach J.R. is also a Nutritional Coaching expert who has transformed hundreds of lifestyles, especially in the combat sports world. The biggest piece to Coach J.R.’s expertise is Mental Performance /Mental Toughness Coaching. His connection with his athletes has been proven on every level of athletics; youth, high school, collegiate, professional, and olympic.

*J.R. started Believe Elite Athletic Training in a single car garage and grew to a top-level performance facility in New York. Now transitioning to more remote/online coaching with a private training facility being built in his new home state of South Carolina (July 2023).
